Sandra Jean Burnham Brown (1943-2026)

New London, NH - Sandra Jean Burnham Brown passed away peacefully in Meredith, NH on June 30, 2026 at the age of 82.
Sandra was born on November 15, 1943 in Lynn, MA to Warren and Phyllis Burnham.
She graduated from Lynn English High School in 1961 and went on to Chandler School for women 1963 and earned a degree in executive secretarial skills.
Sandra married Robert Strong Brown in 1966, her coworker, a mechanical engineer at General Electric in West Lynn, MA.
After moving to New London in 1967, Sandra began working at New London Central School (Gr 1-12)} as the administrative assistant. Sandra and Robert had two children, Laura Jeanne and Scott Edwin Brown. Sandra set about teaching them a love for the outdoors and hard work. Laura developed a love for horses and Scott a love for skiing.
Her children remember her as a kind and caring mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Sandra was an accomplished administrative assistant and accountant. She also volunteered for several local nonprofit organizations. She was a dedicated individual who loved family, the outdoors and horses and who was passionate about care and training of animals.
She was an active and dedicated member of The First Baptist Church and served as the Baptist Women's Fellowship president. Sandra was very involved with the New London Pony Club holding a variety of positions in the Eastern Divisions and White Mountain Regions. She also served for many years as the District Commissioner of the New London Pony Club. Sandra is predeceased by her parents Warren and Phyllis Burnham of Lynn, MA.
Surviving family members include her brother Robert Burnham (wife Nancy and daughter Karen) of Danvers, MA, husband, Robert Brown of New London, NH, daughter, Laura (Sean) Lewis of Strafford, VT, granddaughters, Cassidy Lewis of Waterville, NY, and Brandy Lewis of Strafford, VT, and son, Scott Brown of Elkins, NH.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. in Old Main Street Cemetery, New London. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sandra’s life.
