MUSIC AT FBC
First Baptist Church is a very musical church: we believe in the power of music to enliven our worship, and to bring us closer to God. If you love music, there are many ways you can participate. We encourage singing, either as a member of our choirs or as members of our church community. We encourage playing instruments, traditional or non-traditional. We enjoy music of a diversity of styles, from the ancient to the contemporary.
At our Sunday morning worship services, we blend traditional and contemporary styles of music. Our adult Church Choir prepares and presents anthems and responses during our 9am traditional services in a variety of styles, accompanied by our Schantz Pipe Organ. We rehearse on Tuesday afternoons at 4:45pm in our Music Room.
Our Praise Band, The Gathering, plays at our 11am contemporary service, and includes a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, piano, percussion and vocals. We rehearse every Sunday morning at 10am.
Our adult Handbell Ensemble is an ecumenical choir comprised of individuals with a wide range of musical skills. We rehearse on Wednesdays at 4pm in the Meeting House. The Ensemble rings a five-octave set of English White Chapel handbells, and participates in worship services and concerts.

You are welcome to join our Church Choir, our Handbell Ensemble, and The Gathering. We have the opportunity to enrich our worship experience often; and while we commune with others through music, we often find our own lives enriched. Please join us in this wonderful ministry!
