New London, NH-Priscilla J. (Partington) Sargent, 92, died Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH after a period of declining health.
She was born in Westfield, MA on June 1, 1931 the daughter of Robert T. and Florence M. (Chandler) Partington.
Priscilla graduated from Keene Teachers College and taught elementary school. Later she owned and operated Sargent's Marina and Lake Sunapee Cottages in Georges Mills with her husband until they sold the business in 2000. She had resided in Georges Mills moving to New London in 2000 and then to Sunapee Cove and most recently Summercrest in Newport, NH.
Priscilla was a member of The First Baptist Church of New London and enjoyed singing in the choir. She had been a member of the Georges Mills Ladies Aid. She was a private pilot and enjoyed gardening, reading, baking and handcrafts.
She was predeceased by her husband, John "Babe" W. Sargent in 2011. Priscilla was also predeceased by her daughter, Doireann Sargent, her sister, Marjorie Soucy and her brother, Milton Partington. She is survived by four grandchildren, Christina Wobbe of Georges Mills, NH, Oliver Wobbe of N. Hartland, VT, Brooke Saunders of ME and Jesse Yates of Sunapee, NH. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews very much.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
