Marilyn Barselle (1945-2026)

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Marilyn Alice Barselle died peacefully on September 6, 2026, in New London at the age of 80.  She was born on October 22, 1945, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Alsis and Jean Hurd.  She graduated from New London High School in 1963 and married her high school sweetheart, Edwin “Jon” Barselle, in 1965.

Marilyn graduated from the Concord Hospital School of Nursing and devoted her career and life to caring for others. She worked at New London Hospital, Andover Elementary School, Kearsarge Regional High School, Concord Orthopedics, Colby Real Estate and Colby Insurance Group. She also volunteered her time to various community organizations. She brought integrity, kindness, and a strong work ethic to every role.

Family and friends were at the center of Marilyn’s life. She expressed her love through countless acts of generosity and compassion, often accompanied by her wonderful sense of humor. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Mark and Brett Barselle; her daughters-in-law, Ellen and Kim Barselle; her brother, Fred Hurd; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A graveside service and celebration of life honoring Marilyn and Jon will be held in the spring. Details will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice.
