Cindy Johnson, Director of Youth & Educational Ministries  

Cindy Johnson, though not ordained, has been a “minister” to middle and high school students for years.  As a director, performer, and teacher of both music and theatre, Cindy has spent 25 years working with all ages, from preschoolers at Windy Hill at Colby-Sawyer College , to college students at New Hampshire ’s College for Lifelong Learning.

Cindy’s work within the church has included directing pageants, readers’ theatre, children’s choirs, and dramatic vignettes, such as the Children’s Circle on Sunday mornings.  She served as coordinator of the arts for a church in Minnesota , creating arts programs geared to specific youth groups as a means of worship, outreach and fellowship.  She has been active in Young Life, a non-denominational Christian ministry that reaches out to adolescents.  

Cindy’s formal education includes a bachelor’s degree in communications/theatre and a master’s in educational ministries, both from Wheaton College in Illinois .  She also holds her New Hampshire elementary teaching certification.

 Cindy and her family returned to this area a few years ago after having been originally drawn here in 1991 by a job at the Barn Playhouse and the opportunity to rent Alan and Joan McLeans’s farmhouse.  Cindy and her family, which includes three children, Linnea, Kristina, and Benjamin live in Sutton Mills.
